My name is London Graham and I am a rising sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill studying Business Administration with a minor in Spanish. I would describe my freshman year experience to be similar to that of a roller coaster, filled with a variety of highs and lows and a few steady points.
The highs consisted of things that made me genuinely happy such as meeting new people, going to parties, eating on Franklin Street and joining fun clubs and organizations. The lows consisted of things that didn’t make me so happy, such as pulling a few all-nighters, stressing about midterms, missing my twin sister and adjusting to the independence and academic rigor of college life.
That said; through my experience, I have grown so much as a person in a matter of only eight months. College was hard for me at times and it was the first time I really began to doubt my academic success. Thankfully, my parents instilled in me that “life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it,” which reminds me that I have the power to make things happen – it’s just a matter of how I approach it.

London,I do not know how recent this information about you and your first year at school is but I sense that you are happy and are doing well. I have a niece who just finished college out west and she did very well. I had to get used to being away from my mom and dad since I was the oldest and only girl. My mom was a twin and she went away to college a long time ago. she did well and became a well known local teacher. I also became one. You and your sister will be just fine.
